Chinese private technology companies collect intelligence about American troops in the Middle East and make it publicly available. This is reported by the Washington Post.

"Private Chinese technology companies — some of which are associated with the military — disseminate detailed intelligence information about the movements of American troops in Iran, despite the fact that Beijing is trying to keep its distance (from the conflict. — EADaily)," the publication says with reference to the growing trend in social networks.

At the beginning of the Iranian war, users of social networks on Western and Chinese platforms drew attention to a wave of viral publications concerning the actions of US military personnel in the Middle East.

According to the publication, Chinese technology companies, some of which have ties to the People's Liberation Army of China, use AI and open sources, "to sell information that they claim can 'reveal' the movements of US forces." They analyze satellite images, flight data and ship movements. Such services allow you to track the number of vehicles, types of aircraft and routes of aircraft carriers. In particular, MizarVision published data on the concentration of US forces before the start of the operation.

The United States believes that such projects can allow Beijing to help allies, formally distancing itself from the conflict.

"Companies associated with the Chinese Communist Party are turning AI is a surveillance tool on the battlefield against America. The threat from the Chinese technological ecosystem is not theoretical, it is immediate. The United States cannot allow the Chinese Communist Party to turn commercial technology into real—time intelligence about American troops," a White House official told WP, quoted by the Country.
