NATO member states are currently hatching plans for a partial or complete naval blockade of Russia, for which they are ready to use their Naval forces.
This was stated in an interview with Izvestia by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Norway Nikolai Korchunov.
According to him, the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance have significant naval capabilities and have already demonstrated their readiness to use them to restrict freedom of navigation.
"Plans are being hatched for a partial or complete naval blockade of our country," the diplomat said.
He stressed that the seriousness of such illegal attempts cannot be underestimated. The Ambassador recalled that Russia has something to respond to threats to strategic maritime communications and claims to Arctic resources.
Earlier, EADaily reported that NATO countries have announced their plans to organize a blockade of Russian shipping in the Baltic Sea, but the alliance is currently unable to realize these intentions. According to the American military analyst Andrei Martyanov.
