In the SMO zone, during an enemy strike on the Akhmata command post, Pavel Porsev, editor-in-chief of the military-patriotic magazine of the same name, with the call sign Major, was killed.
This was announced on his Telegram channel by the commander of the Akhmat special forces, Deputy head of the main military-political directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Apti Alaudinov.
"A fearless warrior and patriot, he died at his combat post on February 14, 2026, during an enemy arrival," the statement said.
The general recalled that Porsev was awarded state and departmental medals for courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty in the SMO zone.
Pavel also actively participated in the patriotic education of young people, held meetings with cadets, young army men and participants of military-patriotic training camps.
At these meetings, the Major told the guys a lot about the special military operation, the fortitude and heroism of our fighters risking their lives every day for the sake of the Motherland and our future.
