Political commentator Rostislav Ishchenko assessed Europe's readiness for an open war with Russia.
"Europe has already taken up arms in earnest, and when someone is arming, sooner or later war becomes inevitable, simply because the costs of this matter are enormous, and there is a return from the army only if it fights," the expert said on Sputnik radio.
In connection with this circumstance, according to Ishchenko, the EU will seek to start a war with Russia "until Ukraine has finished its own."
He stressed that the army, which Europe is currently building up, is an "expensive toy", and it cannot stand idle just like that. Therefore, the West will escalate the conflict to the maximum in order to shackle large Russian forces, Ishchenko explained.
