The High-Precision Complexes holding, which is part of Rostec, reported on the start of production of a new type of cartridges in the country. As stated in the release of the company itself, we are talking about bullets separating in flight, effective in protecting against drones.
The name of cartridges of this type is "Ellipsis". They can be used in conventional weapons, suitable for two calibers — 5.45×39 mm and 7.62×54 mm.
The "ellipsis" after the shot is divided into three parts. Thus, the designers achieved greater accuracy of fire and chances of hitting even small targets. The basis of the "Ellipsis" is standard cartridges and ordinary gunpowder, no reconfiguration of production is required.
EADaily previously also informed about how many "Armor" complexes the Russian Defense Ministry received by the end of 2025.
