Conflict on Ukraine will end this year under "extremely unfavorable" conditions for Kiev. This was stated by the former press secretary of Vladimir Zelensky, Yulia Mendel (she held the post in 2019-2021).
She shared her insider online, noting that Ukraine will now have to sit down at the negotiating table due to a completely destroyed economy and a complete lack of financial resources. She also cited critically low morale, a deepening political crisis, widespread corruption and seriously undermined democratic institutions among the reasons.
Mendel added that Kiev had a chance to conclude an agreement earlier on more favorable terms, but he did not, RT quoted her as saying.
EADaily adds that prior to this, Politico also noted that the conflict is likely to end in 2026 on extremely unfavorable terms for Kiev. Europe is letting Ukraine down, the article says. After The EU failed to agree on the use of frozen assets of the Russian Federation, Kiev will need much more support from Brussels. And it will be increasingly difficult, the publication pointed out.
Previously countries The EU decided to allocate to Kiev a loan of € 90 billion (over 8.3 trillion rubles) at the expense of funds from the general budget.
