Due to the increased attacks on the infrastructure of ports, more and more shipowners refuse to call vessels at Ukrainian deep-sea ports. This is reported by the Ukrainian Grain Association.
"Mid-January brought new uncertainty to the Ukrainian shipping market. Against the background of intensified attacks on the infrastructure of ports and more frequent damage to merchant ships, more and more shipowners are suspending visits to Ukrainian deep—sea ports, waiting for the situation to de-escalate," the association said in a statement published in the telegram channel.
It is noted that at the beginning of last week there were a significant number of firm offers from Handysize vessels to transport Ukrainian grain to the market, but since the middle of the market sentiment has changed.
"Shipowners have become more cautious and are increasingly refraining from continuing tough negotiations. The freight tariffs discussed remained at the level of last week, but the further dynamics of rates remains uncertain," the UZ added.
As reported by EADaily, the Rubicon center showed strikes on ships near Odessa. The corresponding video was published in the telegram channel "Rubicon".
