Not yet a "Hazel Tree": hundreds of thousands of homes were left without electricity in France and Britain

Cyclone Goretti is raging in western Europe. Because of him, 380 thousand houses were left without electricity in France the day before, about 50 thousand in Britain, according to national news agencies.

The wind gusts that accompanied Cyclone Goretti reached a speed of 213 kilometers per hour. The management company Enedis announced that 266,200 houses in Normandy are currently without electricity. 21,000 homes in Brittany are affected, 18,500 in Picardy and 13,500 in the Ile-de-France region. It will take several days to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.

According to the French meteorological service, the orange level of weather danger remains in 21 departments of the republic.

In Britain, the National Grid energy company reports that about 57 thousand real estate properties have been left without electricity. Most of the victims live in the south-west of England. The British Weather Service introduced a red weather hazard level in the county of Cornwall in the south-west of the country the day before.

As EADaily reported, last night the Russian army launched a massive combined strike on the power facilities of Ukraine, from which several regions were left without electricity. The strike was carried out, among other things, with the help of the Oreshnik missile system. In this regard, Kiev has already requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.
