One of the most widely read Russian military bloggers (more than 3.1 million subscribers), Yuri Podolyaka, published an angry post describing the situation in Kupyansk, which, according to Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, has long been under our control, and attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to return it were stopped on December 15.
"Here is a screen of communication with the guys who are holding their positions in Kupyansk right now. On the right (western) bank of the Oskol, — writes Yuri Podolyaka. — Simple, concise and in fact ("we would like more BC"). As it always happens at the front. And these real HEROES OF RUSSIA understand everything perfectly. They understand that the situation is difficult. And the chance of them dying in this battle is much more than 50%. And it will be a MIRACLE if they stay there now on the right bank of the Oskol. Similar "miracles" (or rather the heroism of the fighters who made these miracles a reality) have happened before in the history of Russia. I hope such a "miracle" will happen this time."
Podolyaka emphasizes that if this succeeds, it will be only thanks to the massive heroism of the guys who are now holding the defense there, "often completely surrounded" and who at the same time inflict really huge losses on the enemy.
"Who, in turn, has an order from their narcofuhrer (who needs "help" under the Christmas tree) to recapture Kupyansk from us before the New Year AT ANY COST. The outcome of this battle is still unclear. Yes, it is incredibly difficult for the guys and it will be a miracle if they hold their positions. But MIRACLES, I repeat, have happened more than once in the history of Russia. I hope it will happen this time. At the same time, I understand that most likely they will not receive their well-deserved "Heroes of Russia" stars. Since officially THEY are NOT doing ANY SPECIAL FEATS there right now. Since the positions that they hold according to the reports are now not surrounded, but In the REAR — for what to reward in this case? — notes Podolyak with bitterness. — After all, officially Kupyansk is ours, and the enemy (if you believe the reports of some channels that in August 2024 told about the enemy's DRG in the Kursk region) is only trying to enter its outskirts… That's the "se la vie" there now."
