The Special Representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, the head of the RDIF Kirill Dmitriev, commenting on the Russophobic statement of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at a forum in Germany, posted on his telegram channel an image of a character from the TV series "Game of Thrones" - the leader of the White Walkers of the Night King.

"The masks have been removed. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte without a mask," Dmitriev noted with irony, quoting the words of the Secretary General.:

"We must be prepared for the scale of the war that our parents and great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers had to go through."

EADaily adds: earlier today, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto accused Rutte of trying to undermine negotiations on Ukraine and urged him to stop fomenting military tensions.

The day before, on December 11, Rutte, speaking at a forum in Germany, made Russophobic statements, claiming that allegedly "Russia returned the war to Europe." "And we must be prepared for a war of this magnitude, which our grandfathers and great-grandfathers experienced," he said. Rutte once again called on NATO countries to spend more on defense and argued that the security of Ukraine is necessary for the security of the alliance.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia does not have any aggressive plans against NATO members and EU countries. "We are ready to fix the corresponding guarantees in writing, in a legal document. Of course, on a collective, mutual basis," Lavrov said. At the same time, he pointed out that a "militaristic frenzy" reigns in Europe, and repeated the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that if European countries decide to fight with Russia, Moscow is ready for this "even now."

Earlier, Putin stressed that Russia is ready to fix "as you like" the provision that it does not intend to attack European countries. As the Russian leader noted, politicians who publicly state the opposite are "not themselves" or "crooks," and the statements are "complete nonsense" and "outright lies."
