The process of modernization of Czech T-72M4CZ tanks has revealed serious technical problems that make their full use hopeless, which leads to the impossibility of supplying tanks to Ukraine. This was reported on December 2 by the Czech publication Novinky with reference to the Czech Ministry of Defense.
"The modernization of the T-72M4CZ tanks failed due to technical problems. ...The key components of the fire control system cannot be repaired or replaced, which makes the tanks practically unusable. Thus, the project is approaching closure, although initially the army planned to transfer them to Ukraine," the article says.
It is specified that in the summer and autumn of this year, numerous but unsuccessful attempts were made to conduct mandatory control tests of tanks. The main problem was the accuracy of the shooting. The reason for this was the frequent failures in the electronic components of the fire control system, which cannot be repaired.
