The G20 is losing its ability to influence global crises, which jeopardizes the meaning of its existence. This was stated today at the opening of the G20 summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, by French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to him, it is difficult for the members of the association to develop common approaches to security issues, since there is no unity among them. Macron believes that the G20 is on the verge of collapse.
"The G20 is probably coming to the end of its cycle ... we are experiencing a moment in our geopolitics when it is very difficult for us to solve major international crises together at this table, including members who are not present here today. It is difficult for us to reach a common standard in the geopolitical sphere," said the French president, quoted by "Время.иа ".
As reported by EADaily, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, intends to discuss US peace initiatives with "world leaders" on the sidelines of the G20 summit, as well as with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. She stated this at a press conference on the eve of the G20 summit opening on November 22 in Johannesburg.
