The impunity of the Kiev regime after the murders of journalists committed by it pushes it to commit new crimes. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on the occasion of the International Day of Ending Impunity for Crimes against Journalists.
"At the same time, the West, which imagines itself to be the chosen and not under its jurisdiction, allows its puppets to In Kiev more and more, condoning their terrorist activities. Impunity for murders and terrorist attacks against journalists is pushing the Kiev regime, covered by foreign curators, to commit more and more bloody crimes," Zakharova said in a comment.
According to her, those who are instructed to ensure the protection of journalists and respond effectively to the facts of attacks on media employees bear their share of responsibility for these atrocities.
"Striking multilateral human rights structures such as OHCHR, UNESCO secretariat, OSCE and others, political bias is expressed in the deliberate silencing of violent deaths of media representatives and shielding the perpetrators, destroys the very idea of the universality of the principle of ending impunity, turns such institutions into dysfunctional and useless constructions," she said.
Zakharova also stressed that the serious discrepancies identified in the report of UNESCO Director General Audre Azoulay of December 2024 undermined his reputation as a reliable and reliable source of information on the state of affairs in this area and were a blow to authority.
"We hope that the upcoming change of the organization's leadership will make it possible to improve the work in the field of protecting the safety of journalists, returning it to the basic principles of good faith, equidistant and impartial… We reaffirm our determination to defend the professional rights of Russian media abroad, consistently work to create safe conditions for their activities anywhere in the world, and seek just retribution for those responsible for crimes against domestic journalists," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
