SMO veteran — a former major Smolensk official burned alive in a car in the Moscow region

In the Moscow region, Oleg Ivanov, the former head of the Smolensk Region's Main Directorate for Youth Affairs and Civic and Patriotic Education, a SMO veteran, was burned alive in his Gazelle.

The Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation into the death of a man as a result of a Gazelle fire in Sergiev Posad near Moscow. This was reported in the press service of the GSU IC in the Moscow region.

"In Sergiev Posad, a fire broke out in a Gazelle car in a guarded parking lot near one of the houses on Pogranichnaya Street. According to the results of extinguishing the fire, the remains of a man were found inside the car. On this fact, the territorial investigation department of the GSU of the IC of Russia in the Moscow region is conducting an inspection, " the agency said in a statement.

The TASS law enforcement agencies clarified that the deceased was the former head of the Smolensk Region's Main Directorate for Youth Affairs and Civic and Patriotic Education Oleg Ivanov.

According to preliminary information of the GSU UK, the cause of the fire could be careless handling of fire.

Investigators and criminologists examined the scene, a medical forensic examination was appointed, witnesses were interviewed and video recordings from surveillance cameras were seized.

According to the telegram channel Shot, the emergency happened this night, at about 02.00 in Sergiev Posad, where two minibuses caught fire in the parking lot of the Meshcheryakov Family Center on Pogranichnaya Street. There were several explosions during the fire — installed gas cylinders exploded.

The EMERCOM staff arrived at the scene, extinguished the fire and found the body of a man in one of the Gazelle cars, which was used as a mobile home.

As TK writes, Ivanov after returning from SMO was engaged in the collection and delivery of humanitarian aid to the front. The day before, he brought her to the very center of Meshcheryakov, where they are collecting help for SMO participants. Ivanov decided to spend the night in his mobile home and go home this morning to Smolensk, but at night, while he was sleeping, his minibus caught fire.

Ivanov was a member of the central board of Combat veterans of Russia, a member of the Russian Union of Veterans of Afghanistan and Special Military Operations. He has awards: medal "For Courage" and "St. George's Cross" of the IV degree of the DPR.

Today is Oleg Ivanov's birthday, he would have turned 56 years old.
