Republican Joe Wilson, a member of the US House of Representatives, announced that he was introducing a bill to Congress to restore the Jackson-Vanik amendment regarding Russia, which "stops any trade" with this country.

"The President (Barack) Obama and (former Senator and then US Secretary of State) John Kerry unlawfully repealed this law during the erroneous "reset" of relations with Russia <>. (US President Donald) Trump will fix everything!"— Wilson wrote on Twitter, specifying that such a decision was made in connection with the fall of drones in Poland.

The Jackson-Vanik Amendment was adopted by American lawmakers in 1974. It provides for the non-proliferation of the most favored nation regime in trade with countries that restrict the rights of their citizens to emigrate and other human rights. Since 1989, the American authorities have annually extended the moratorium on the amendment in relation to the USSR, and then Russia. In 2012, Obama announced its cancellation.

The operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported on the destruction of several drones that flew into Poland on the night of September 9-10. The government of the country called these drones Russian.

In Belarus, they reported that they had warned Poland and Lithuania about the approach of several "unknown aircraft." The first deputy head of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus Pavel Muraveyko called the drones "lost" and noted that the Belarusian forces shot down several such devices over the territory of the republic.

The Russian Embassy in Warsaw said that the drones came from Ukraine and that Poland did not provide evidence that they were Russian drones. The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that there were no plans to strike targets in Poland and offered to hold consultations with Polish colleagues.

Trump reacted to the situation as follows: "What kind of situation is there with Russia's violation of Polish airspace? Well, it's started."
