Today's urgent online BRICS summit, convened at the initiative of Brazil, was supposed to coordinate the actions of the member countries in response to the aggressive policy of the United States. This is reported by TASS, where they collected all the little information, since the event was closed.

The leaders' communication lasted 1.5 hours. Initially, Brazilian President Lula da Silva said that the summit was necessary to work out a coordinated solution due to the threat to the multipolar world order and the union's common response to US tariffs and sanctions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the summit via video link from Sochi. The Kremlin said that during the meeting "issues of cooperation between the BRICS member countries in trade, economic, financial, investment and other spheres were discussed, taking into account the current situation in the global economy."

The press service of the Brazilian president later announced that the association "reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and strengthening multilateralism, as well as reforming international institutions."

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa noted that the Republic of South Africa sees BRICS as a leader of the world economy and a reformer of the system of international relations, and the countries that are members of the association should strengthen their leadership in the global economy.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that strengthening the interaction of the BRICS member countries will help them cope with external challenges and risks more easily. According to him, the countries that are members of the association should adhere to multilateralism in order to protect international justice and legality.

And finally, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar suggested that the participating countries analyze and solve the problem of trade imbalance. This, according to him, will give an example of promoting sustainable trade.
