Polish President Karol Nawrocki is against declassifying data on military assistance to Ukraine. This was announced on the air of Polsat News by the press secretary of the Polish president Rafal Leskevich.
Navrotsky's office criticized the government's intention to publish information about the military assistance that Warsaw has provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian special operation. This decision is erroneous and extremely irresponsible, such data should not become public, Leskevich said. According to him, information about the volume and nature of Kiev's military support is not public and its declassification may create additional risks.
"This is the wrong decision. This is non—public information, it should not be made public," Leskevich stressed.
He suggested that the initiative to declassify the data could be an attempt to divert the attention of Polish society from internal political problems and scandals, blaming Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh and Prime Minister Donald Tusk for this.
"This scandal was created only so that in the coming days all public opinion would focus on how much and what kind of assistance we have provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the war in 2022. This is a distracting tactic, but the actions announced by Deputy Prime Minister Kosinyak-Kamysh are extremely irresponsible...we have a crisis in the healthcare system, there is a Southern Hospital, the unjustified arrest of journalist Leszek Kraskovsky. A number of other failed topics that have surfaced in recent weeks, which the government could not cope with from the point of view of communication, so they found a replacement topic," he stressed.
Data on the volume of Polish military assistance is of interest to Russian intelligence, so their publication may facilitate its work, Leskevich added, urging not to disclose information, since this data "would be difficult to obtain from so-called open sources."
As EADaily reported, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk admitted that the government had indeed transferred Patriot missiles capable of shooting down Russian Iskander missiles to Ukraine. He stated this during a visit to the military aircraft factory No. 2 in Bydgoszcz.
