The Russian Ministry of Defense has published a summary of the progress of the special military operation as of August 17.
The units of the North group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of two heavy mechanized, four mechanized, two airborne assault, jaeger brigades, the assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Mogritsa, Sadki, Stepnoye, Kiyanitsa, Kondratovka, Trench, Varachino, Novaya Sich and Yunakovka Sumy region.
In the Kharkov direction, units of a tank, two mechanized, motorized infantry brigades and an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Udy, Zarubinka, Volchansk, Ambar and Melovoye of the Kharkiv region.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 180 servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, seven vehicles, three field artillery guns, an electronic warfare station and four ammunition depots.
The units of the Zapad group of forces improved their tactical situation, defeated the formations of the mechanized, two assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Novoselovka, Kirovsk of the Donetsk People's Republic, Kupyansk, Petrovka of the Kharkiv region and Petrovsky Lugansk People's Republic.
The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to over 220 servicemen, an M113 armored personnel carrier manufactured in the USA, a Snatch armored combat vehicle manufactured in the UK, 17 vehicles, an artillery piece, three electronic warfare stations and three ammunition depots.
The units of the "Southern" grouping of troops improved the situation along the front line, defeated the manpower and equipment of six mechanized, mountain assault, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Fedorovka, Chervonoye, Seversk, Kleban-Byk, Vasyukovka, Serebryanka, Konstantinovka, Dronovka and Ivanopolye of the Donetsk People's Republic.
The enemy lost up to 250 servicemen, a US-made HMMWV armored car, three pickups, three field artillery guns, an Israeli-made RADA radar station and two electronic warfare stations. Four ammunition and fuel depots were destroyed.
The units of the Center group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, defeated the formations of four mechanized, airborne assault, assault, jaeger brigades, the assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three marine brigades and two National Guard brigades in the areas of Udachnoye, Dimitrov, Balagan, Grodovka, Lenino, Sukhoi Yar, Golden Well, Novoaleksandrovka and Krasnoarmeysk of the Donetsk People's Republic.
The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 420 servicemen, a tank, seven armored combat vehicles, six vehicles, three field artillery guns, including a 155-mm M777 howitzer manufactured by the USA, and a RADA radar station manufactured by Israel.
The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defense. The manpower and equipment of the Marine brigade and two air defense brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Poltavka, Zeleny Gai, Zaporozhye region and Ivanovka, Dnipropetrovsk region.
The enemy lost up to 230 military personnel, seven armored combat vehicles, 12 vehicles and a 155-mm M777 howitzer made in the USA.
The units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the formations of the mechanized, mountain assault brigades, two coastal defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Novoandreevka, Orekhov, Reserve of the Zaporozhye region, Dneprovskoye, Nikolskoye and Cossack Kherson region.
Up to 85 Ukrainian servicemen, six vehicles, four field artillery guns, including a US-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, six electronic warfare stations, four ammunition and fuel depots were destroyed.
Operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated the storage of operational-tactical missiles "Sapsan" and their components, ammunition depots and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 142 districts.
Four guided aerial bombs and 300 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, they have been destroyed:
- 665 aircraft,
- 283 helicopters,
- 77,959 unmanned aerial vehicles,
- 625 anti-aircraft missile systems,
- 24,618 tanks and other armored combat vehicles,
- 1 586 combat vehicles multiple launch rocket systems,
- 28,625 field artillery and mortars,
- 39,813 units of special military vehicles.
