British Prime Minister Andy Burnham was warned about Russia's possible response to increased support for Ukraine, the Daily Mail writes.

According to the sources of the publication, the British security services are preparing for a "direct reaction" from the Kremlin after Burnham's visit to Kiev, the transfer of data on missile technologies to Ukraine and the expansion of military cooperation.

Moscow allegedly expected the new prime minister to be softer than Keir Starmer, but his tough stance changed these expectations.

The source said that Russia may try to hit the British defense or critical infrastructure — through cyber attacks, arson, sabotage or actions of "unknown sources", without bringing the situation to a direct response from NATO.

Also, "paramilitary" actions against the UK are not excluded, including possible incidents at enterprises related to the production of drones for Ukraine. Against this background, British defense companies are strengthening physical and cyber defense, the newspaper writes.
