Khalil Arslanov, the former Deputy chief of the General Staff and chief of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces, sentenced to 17 years in prison, has applied for a contract to participate in a special operation. This is reported by Kommersant, citing sources.
It is noted that the general has already passed a medical examination in the Matrosskaya Tishina detention center and received a positive conclusion. He was put on trial with the rank of general, but he is ready to fight in any capacity.
"During the fighting, my place is on the front line, not in jail," because he is "primarily a soldier of his country," the Colonel—General told Kommersant through his representative.
As reported by EADaily, the court sentenced the former deputy head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Khalil Arslanov, to 17 years in a high-security penal colony in a case of bribery and fraud.
