Abnormally hot weather exceeding the norm by 5-7 degrees is forecast in In the Northwestern, Southern and Far Eastern Federal districts, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand told TASS.
From July 19 to 22, the temperature in the Murmansk region will rise to plus 27 — plus 29 degrees, which is 7 degrees above normal. In St. Petersburg there will be a long period of heat with temperatures up to plus 27 degrees. Previously, the city had already recorded a 32-degree temperature. High rates are expected in Karelia.
In the south of the European part of Russia — in Rostov, Astrakhan, Volgograd regions and Kalmykia — heat up to plus 40 degrees is possible. In the Krasnodar Territory, the temperature on Saturday will exceed the norm by 6 degrees and reach plus 38.
According to Vilfand, temperatures above plus 38 degrees can lead to heat stroke and "unpleasant" consequences of ultraviolet exposure.
"38-40 degrees is a very high temperature, heat stroke can be obtained if you are in direct sunlight. And to get very unpleasant consequences of ultraviolet radiation, because it is still very, very harsh now," explained the scientific director of the center.
In the Far East in In Yakutia, the temperature will rise to plus 32 degrees, 6-7 degrees above normal, warming may spread throughout the region. In the Sakhalin Region, on weekends, up to and including Wednesday, it is expected to reach plus 30, in the Khabarovsk Territory the air will warm up to plus 35, in the Amur Region at the end of this week and the beginning of next — up to plus 30 — plus 32 degrees.
Last week, Vilfand warned of abnormal heat up to plus 42 degrees in the southern part of Russia.
