The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Russia Sergey Katyrin revealed the denominations of the BRICS currency. The sovereign currency of the association came out in three types — 50,100 and 200 conventional units, as reported by RIA Novosti today, July 16.

Katyrin clarified that the creators of the banknotes aimed to find a form that visually and conceptually combines the principles of multipolarity and equality. The bill shows the general movement of the BRICS countries towards a new architecture of the world order.

Thus, one banknote depicts the flags of the five BRICS member states, and the other shows the symbols of those who plan to join the association.

"At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2025, a new banknote with a nominal value of 200 conventional units was presented — a limited series," Katyrin recalled.

At the summit of the association in In Kazan in 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin has already been shown banknotes with a face value of 50. And the first batch of a thousand copies of 100 units was recently presented in Pretoria, where the Russian ambassador to South Africa presented a banknote to South African diplomats.
