Israel will pay for the attempt to assassinate Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian, a senior Iranian source told Qatar's Al Jazeera television channel.
Earlier, the Fars news agency reported that Pezeshkian received minor leg injuries during the evacuation from the building in Tehran, which was hit by Israel on June 16.
"There was an attempt to crack down on the heads of the executive, legislative and judicial authorities during the Israeli aggression," the source said.
According to him, the attempt to assassinate the Iranian president is part of an Israeli plan to overthrow the government in the country.
"Israel will pay for trying to kill the Iranian president," he added.
The Iranian authorities have organized a large-scale investigation into the attempted murder of Pezeshkian, there are suspicions that an Israeli agent was present at the site of the strike, the source said.
