A video from the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ASIAN regional forum has appeared on the Web.
In the frame, Rubio can be seen playfully winking at Lavrov.
CNN correspondent Kylie Atwood was the first to pay attention to this, as she wrote on the social network X.
"At the beginning of the meeting, none of them made comments, but Rubio winked at Lavrov after questions began to be asked," Atwood said, quoted by RBC.
As EADaily reported, a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio took place in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur today, it lasted a little less than an hour. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of ASEAN events. As stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties confirmed "a mutual attitude to search for peaceful solutions to conflict situations." The situation around Ukraine, as well as the situation in Iran and Syria were discussed. Lavrov and Rubio also held a "reconciliation of positions on the entire bilateral agenda and a number of international issues."
