US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that Washington is unhappy with the fact that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is flying to Russia, and not to the States for negotiations. TASS informs about this today, June 22.
At the same time, Rubio admitted that he could not raise any weighty objections to this.
"I saw that the foreign minister instead of meeting with [the special envoy of the American leader] Steve Witkoff is heading to Moscow to meet with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin," he said.
Rubio continued — "it's fine, they (Iranians — EADaily) can go and meet."
EADaily also previously reported that Washington is looking for Beijing's support in the conflict with Iran.
