During today's exchange, Russia handed over 1,212 bodies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Ukraine, and received 27 dead Russian fighters. This was announced by the assistant to the President of Russia, the head of the Russian delegation at the talks with the Ukrainian side, Vladimir Medinsky.
"We handed over 1,212 bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers to the Ukrainian side. 27 dead fighters were returned to us RF Armed Forces. Now they can be buried in a Christian way. The work will continue all these days," he wrote.
According to Medinsky, urgent "sanitary exchanges" of seriously wounded prisoners from the front line will begin tomorrow.
As EADaily reported, Russia is ready to return about 6,000 bodies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants stored in morgues on the territory of the Russian Federation. Kiev did not agree to accept the bodies for the first three days, trying to come up with various excuses and accusing Russia of inconsistency of actions.
