Foul language, insults and blasphemy: in Novosibirsk, they took up arms against Leningrad

The Novosibirsk Coordinating Council for the protection of public morality, Culture and traditional family values demanded to cancel the concerts of the Leningrad group. The appeal of the organization to the governor of the region Andrei Travnikov, vice-governor, mayor of Novosibirsk, ministers of culture and sports is published on the official portal of the organization.

Concerts of the band are scheduled for May 29, 30 and 31 of this year at the Ice Sports Palace "Siberia Arena".

Activists note that the group is "known for its public profanity, insulting public morality, promoting alcohol consumption and smoking," "blasphemy is also present in the work of the group."

Public activists also believe that Leningrad violates the law on the state language.

"The Ministry of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region and the Novosibirsk City Hall have previously sent demands and recommendations to the organizers of the Leningrad concerts to avoid using obscene language from the stage. All of them were pointedly ignored. Sergei Shnurov frankly stated in the media that he would not stop using the mat on stage, even if he had to pay fines," the authors of the appeal are outraged.

Moreover, in 2016 and 2018, after the concert in Novosibirsk, the organizers were issued "small fines", which "against the background of multimillion concert fees did not stop the offenses."

"We demand from you a decisive, high patriotic act — the cancellation of concerts of the Leningrad group in Novosibirsk," the representatives of the organization conclude.

As reported by EADaily, the concert of the Leningrad group, which was supposed to take place on September 16, 2023 at the Luzhniki stadium, was canceled three days before the show. At the same time, on social networks, fans of the group were disappointed to note that many do not live in Moscow, bought tickets for trains and planes, booked hotels and now will lose a lot of time and effort to return the money spent. Shnurov and the Leningrad group were going to find out through the court the reasons for the cancellation of the concert.

The organizer of the concert, ArtLife LLC, later stated that "the group was notified of the high risk of canceling the concert."

In December last year it became known that Shnurov lost a lawsuit over this concert to the head of the PMI corporation, Yevgeny Finkelstein, for 165 million rubles.
