Mercenaries from Azerbaijan, Belgium and Sweden who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been sentenced in absentia in Russia. Hasan Anar oglu Mammadov, Maxim Roger Henry Barat and Tobias Enquist were found guilty of committing war and other crimes.
Each of them was sentenced to 14 years in prison, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
All three are on the international wanted list.
