A group of Russian tourists were kicked off the beach in Sharjah (UAE) due to a violation of the dress code related to the ban on swimsuits. They were also fined by the local police.
She told the portal about this unpleasant incident TourDom.ru one of the holidaymakers who stayed at the Al Bahar Hotel & Resort in Fujairah, the capital of the emirate of Fujairah.
The woman explained that the local beach was closed to visitors due to recent oil pollution, so tourists began to be taken to other beaches.
"This morning we were supposed to go there to sunbathe and swim, but alas. It turned out that yesterday the police kicked tourists off the beach because they were in swimsuits. You can allegedly swim only in closed clothes. And besides, as we were told, these people were fined. It is impossible to rest at our hotel — the smell of oil," the Russian woman said.
It is noted that we are talking about Sharjah. No bathing suit bans were reported on other beaches where tourists were taken out due to pollution, for example in Al-Akka and Dibba.
As Dmitry Arutyunov, the head of the ART-TOUR tour operator, explained to the publication, the emirate of Sharjah is distinguished by harsh laws. There are stricter restrictions, including those relating to the appearance of tourists.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Fitness Plaza Fitness club banned clients from visiting the pool in bikinis and strapless swimsuits on the bodice. The rules apply without exception to all clients in all clubs of the network. The owner of Fitness Plaza is an individual entrepreneur of Azerbaijani origin, in this country the majority of the population are Muslims.
