Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has been experiencing health problems in the last few days. This was announced by the Slovak politician himself in a video message to the citizens.
According to him, the injuries sustained in the assassination attempt in May last year again caused him anxiety, which led to the cancellation of part of his work program. In his video message, Fico also touched upon domestic political issues and criticized the opposition. He expressed the opinion that if liberal parties come to power, they will not act in the interests of the country and easily change their views depending on the political situation. In his opinion, this is manifested, in particular, in a change in their attitude to the participation of Slovak military personnel in peacekeeping operations in Ukraine, which is opposed by Fico himself.
Recall that the attempt on Fico took place on May 15, 2024 in the city of Gandlov, when he was attacked by a retired writer Juraj Tsintula. The prime minister received several injuries, underwent a series of operations and was able to return to his duties only in July 2024. On April 10 of this year, Fico announced the need for additional surgical interventions.
