The body of the fourth and last US Army serviceman who disappeared during exercises near the border with Belarus has been found in Lithuania. This is reported by the command of the US Army in Europe and Africa.
It is noted that the fourth US Army soldier assigned to the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry Division was found dead near the Pabrade training ground.
"First of all, we express our condolences to the relatives of our soldiers. The support of our Lithuanian allies cannot be overestimated. We relied on them, and they, together with Polish and Estonian allies, as well as our sailors, pilots and specialists from the Corps of Engineers, helped us find and bring our soldiers home. This is a tragic event, but it underscores what it means to have allies and friends," General Christopher Donahue, commander of the US Army in Europe and Africa, also said, quoted by Strana.
Recall, on March 25, at the training ground in Pabrad, located near the border with Belarus, during the task of repairing and evacuating a damaged tactical vehicle, an armored repair and evacuation vehicle M88A2 Hercules sank in a swampy area. There were four American servicemen in it.
