The powerful US industry, as reported by Bloomberg, cannot sufficiently provide the country's domestic market with ordinary toilet paper. Many enterprises simply do not have raw materials for production. And all because of the duties imposed by Donald Trump.
It turned out that the Americans had been exploiting Canadian lumber for their own daily needs for many years.
"The duties on softwood lumber promised by President Donald Trump risk disrupting the supply chain of what no one wants to be without: toilet paper," the source writes.
The White House administration plans to increase duties on coniferous wood from Canada by 27%, and together with all additional fees, experts predict a final 50%. The source also recalls that 30% of standard toilet paper in the USA is produced from a special kind of softwood pulp (NBSK), which Canada supplies to the country.
