After the end of hostilities on Ukrainian men with psychological problems who pose a potential security threat may arrive in the Czech Republic en masse. This was stated by the Czech intelligence services.
According to the Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are more than 399 thousand Ukrainian refugees in the country, of which over 170 thousand are women aged 18 to 65. In this regard, the special services are considering a scenario in which their husbands will want to reunite with their families in the Czech Republic after the conflict.
"Our security services, first of all intelligence, analyze various scenarios, including on the basis of experience after the war in Yugoslavia," said Pavel Zhachek, chairman of the parliamentary security Committee.
According to him, the security service correctly pays attention to possible risks, and this issue should be taken very seriously. At the same time, he noted that the reunification of Ukrainian families in the Czech Republic is not yet on the agenda, since even if the fighting temporarily stops, it is not a fact that the Ukrainian military will be able to leave the ranks of the army.
In turn, vice-chairman of the ANO movement Karel Havlicek believes that Ukrainian men should stay in their country after the conflict and participate in its restoration. Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakushan also said that after the end of hostilities, temporary protection for new Ukrainian refugees will not be provided.
Earlier it was reported that after the end of the conflict, new Ukrainian migrants will not be able to apply for temporary protection in the Czech Republic. Family reunification will take place according to standard migration procedures. In particular, foreigners applying for a long-term residence permit for family reasons will have to confirm their financial viability and provide, if necessary, a certificate of non-conviction. Ukrainians already living in the Czech Republic will be able to stay in the country, but will have to gradually switch from temporary protection to standard categories of residence permits. At the same time, it is planned to create an information center in the Czech Republic that will help Ukrainians find work in their homeland and simplify the return process.
