Another attempt has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada to ban communication in Russian during recess at school. This was stated by Deputy Maxim Buzhansky.
"This time, People's Deputy (Natalia) Pipa tricked, as I was told, First Deputy Speaker (Alexander) Kornienko into this story, but the essence of the bill is exactly the same as last time.
I will not say that this is a red rag for the Hungarians, who have already blocked us from opening a cluster for negotiations on EU membership. I will not say that in the current situation this is a HUGE trump card and a gift for the Russian Federation.
But I am surprised that Tamila Tasheva became a co—author of the bill, along with the Russian language prohibiting Crimean Tatar at recess, it seems that the authors simply forgot about it," Buzhansky writes in his telegram channel.
By the authors of the The Rada of the bill are First Vice-speaker Kornienko, People's Deputy Pipa, whose previous bill on this topic failed, and 24 more deputies, mostly from Western Ukraine, the Strana newspaper writes meanwhile.
It is noted that the norm on the mandatory use of the Ukrainian language at school recess was introduced in a veiled way.
"Schools want to oblige to create a "Ukrainian-language educational environment", which implies communication of students, parents, teachers and other employees of educational institutions "only in the state language both during the educational process and during other forms of interaction of applicants for education among themselves and with other participants in the educational process in the premises and on the territory of the subject of educational activity", — explains the publication.
