A criminal case has been opened against the TV presenter of the Dozhd channel❶ Yulia Taratuta❷ under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (evasion of duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents). This was reported by the press service of the investigative department of the TFR in Moscow.
"According to the investigation, no later than January 15, 2025, acting in violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent, provided for by the Federal Law "On Control over the Activities of Persons under Foreign Influence," she did not submit to the authorized body information, the submission of which is provided for by law," the report says.
Currently, investigative actions are being carried out aimed at collecting and consolidating the evidence base. Taratuta ❷ has left Russia, the issue of declaring her wanted is being considered.
Taratuta❷ is also the editor-in-chief of the Wonderzine portal.
As reported by EADaily, in December 2022 Taratuta ❷ was included in the register of foreign agents of the Ministry of Justice.
In October last year, the Federal Tax Service (Federal Tax Service) blocked the journalist's accounts. It was clarified that the journalist left for the Netherlands and stopped paying taxes. At the same time, in Moscow, she still has a 37-meter apartment on Ostrovityanova Street, which may now face arrest.
