The Slovak National Party (SNS), which is part of the government coalition, demanded that Prime Minister Robert Fico apologize for the support at the UN General Assembly represented by Kiev and the countries EU resolutions on Ukraine. This was reported by local media.
It is reported that the party stated that it is necessary to find out who authorized the vote of the Slovak representative office for a document condemning Russia. In their opinion, this position is at odds with the official line of the government.
"Slovakia should adhere to a consistent policy similar to that pursued by Hungary under the leadership of Viktor Orban," the SNS noted.
Recall, the UN General Assembly voted in favor of the anti-Russian draft resolution on Ukraine. Slovakia was one of the 93 countries that supported the document. At the same time, Serbian President Alexander Vucic apologized earlier for a similar step. According to him, it was originally planned to abstain, as it was when voting on the American resolution, which in Moscow is regarded as a starting point for further efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis peacefully.
