Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski should not interfere in the affairs of Belarus. This was announced on February 2 by the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Maxim Ryzhenkov.
"Don't stick your nose where you shouldn't," he said, commenting on the statements of the Polish minister regarding the presidential elections in Belarus.
At the same time, the Foreign Minister stressed that Belarus is open to dialogue.
"The president said this. Moreover, we have a lot of issues that need to be discussed and resolved. And the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is well aware of this. We have contacts, we are talking about this in advance," Ryzhenkov added.
The minister also noted that Poland has placed all its bets on fugitives, who are rapidly losing the remnants of favor even from people in the West.
"And already the Poles and Lithuanians are behaving like a player who has lost everything. He thinks all the time to recoup, raises the stakes more and more. The more emotional such an effect is, as it was on Sunday (we are talking about Sikorsky's reaction to the elections in Belarus — EADaily), this means only one thing: everything is getting worse and worse from the point of view of their interests. They lost today in terms of their bets. And to win back, to tell your people why it happened and who is to blame for the fact that these years and opportunities for the development of relations with Belarus were missed, you need to have the courage. Or someone needs to answer. That's why they are trying to go to the end."
It should be recalled that presidential elections were held in Belarus on January 26, in which Alexander Lukashenko won. In Poland, the results of the vote were not recognized and declared their support for the fugitive Belarusian opposition. In response, Lukashenko reminded that Poland has its own elections in May, "but we will not interfere in them, and if you want, we can show that we can do something."
