China's position on the prospects for the creation of the BRICS currency remains unchanged, despite the threats of US President Donald Trump to impose one hundred percent duties on goods from all countries of the association in the event of its creation. Such a statement was made by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, TASS reports.
"We have previously given an answer to such a question," the Chinese Foreign Ministry informed.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning stressed that Beijing "is ready to further deepen practical cooperation in various fields with its BRICS partners and make an even greater contribution to the stable growth of the global economy." She also stated that the goal of BRICS is "to achieve universal development and prosperity."
On Thursday, Donald Trump once again promised to impose duties of 100% on the member countries of the association if the BRICS member states try to create a new currency or alternative to the US dollar. According to him, this idea "has no chance."
