The Russian army liberated the village of Velikaya Novoselka in the DPR. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"On January 26, 2025, as a result of active offensive actions by units of the 5th Guards Separate Tank Brigade of the 36th Army and the 40th Guards Marine Brigade of the Vostok group of forces, the settlement of Velikaya Novoselka of the Donetsk People's Republic was liberated," the department's telegram channel says.
It should be recalled that Velikaya Novoselka is the last large, well—prepared defense line and logistics hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south Donetsk direction.
As reported by EADaily, the Ukrainian Armed Forces traditionally deny the real state of affairs.
The speaker of the command of the operational-strategic grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Khortytsia" Viktor Tregubov said on the telethon that "we cannot say that Velikaya Novoselka is occupied" by Russian troops.
