Western countries have launched a large-scale campaign to interfere in the upcoming State Duma elections, and traitors to Russia are helping them in this. This was stated by the chairman of the Federation Council Commission for the protection of state sovereignty and the prevention of interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Dzhabarov.

"Western countries have launched a large-scale campaign to organize attempts to interfere in the upcoming elections to the State Duma. Over the past two years, Russia's opponents have been actively practicing new techniques, testing new methods of electoral interference during elections in a number of countries, including Moldova and Armenia. The Commission is constantly monitoring and analyzing Western intervention tools. We know and understand the technologies of attempts at foreign interference — all such attempts will be stopped and reflected," he said at a meeting of the commission dedicated to the topic: "Foreign interference in elections on a single voting day."

As the senator noted, in its destructive plans, the West "traditionally relies on foreign agents, extremists and other traitors."

"In the European Parliament, PACE and other venues, foreign agents and extremists openly present their projects to interfere in the upcoming elections. The preparation of various electoral provocations is carried out with the direct financial, organizational, informational and ideological support of the West," he added, quoted by TASS.

As previously reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the September elections to the State Duma would be held on time, stressing that all measures would be taken to ensure the safety of election commission staff, candidates, observers, voters "to protect the results of the people's will from any attempts of external influence and manipulation." "The necessary instructions in this regard have been formulated and, of course, will be given," Putin said.
