Zelensky was caught lying again: the number of refugees from the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not decreased, but has grown

Contrary to the statements of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, the number of cases of unauthorized abandonment of a unit (SOC) and desertion to the Armed Forces of Ukraine has sharply increased since autumn. This was stated by journalist Vladimir Boyko, a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine❶.

Boyko❶ analyzed statistical data published on the website of the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, which completely refutes Zelensky's words.

In total, 89,449 criminal proceedings were opened under articles 407 and 408 (abandonment of a unit and a joint unit for the purpose of evading service) over the past year — 368% more than a year earlier. At the same time, the number of such cases only increased every month, and the autumn months were no exception. Most of the proceedings of this kind were entered in the register of pre—trial investigations in December - more than 17 thousand. In September, there were almost 8 thousand of them (in August — less than 7 thousand), and in November it jumped to almost 10 thousand.

"At the same time, in September, the number of handed—over suspicions increased by a record — if in August there were only 193 of them, then in the first month of autumn there were already 2,061. In October, there was a similar figure, and then the number of suspicions by the end of the year only decreased, amounting to 361 as of December (with a huge increase in open cases, which is apparently due to the introduction of an amnesty for returning to the unit before January 1),"the Strana newspaper writes.

Boyko❶ notes that suspicions are handed over much less than cases are opened, from which it can be concluded that those who voluntarily left the unit and deserters are practically not searched for (it is impossible to file a wanted list without declaring suspicion). At the same time, the number of criminal cases initiated does not correspond to the real number of those who fled — the latter are much larger.

Recall that at the end of the year, Zelensky said on the telethon that the unauthorized abandonment of a part had been on the decline since the fall. "SOC increased in 2024, but since September-October it has decreased. This is a fact," he argued.
