The press service of the President of Abkhazia issued a statement in connection with the statements of the deputy of the State Duma of Russia Anastasia Udaltsova (Communist Party) regarding the situation in the republic.
"In an interview with Aurora Radio, Anastasia Udaltsova, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, stated that a number of government and public figures of Abkhazia received multimillion-dollar loans using their official position. The statements of Ms. Udaltsova are based on information disseminated by anonymous pages on social networks and dubious telegram channels. Such fabrications are aimed at discrediting public and state figures of Abkhazia, including acting President Badru Gunba, on the eve of the presidential elections," the presidential press service said.
The statement voiced by DEPUTY Udaltsova "does not correspond to reality," the Presidential administration of Abkhazia said and urged the media not to spread false information.
