The troops of the Kiev regime launched a massive missile attack on the town of Rylsk in the west of the Kursk region. There are dead and injured civilians, their number is being established.
It is known that social infrastructure facilities were affected, including a pedagogical college, a House of Culture, and a school. Eyewitnesses report strong explosions in the city.
Alexander Khinshtein, acting Governor of the Kursk Region, commented on the situation. He said that all operational and emergency services are working at the site of the AFU missile strike on Rylsk.
The head of the region himself was at a meeting in Moscow at the time of the attack, so he sent acting chairman of the regional government Alexei Dedov to the place of shelling.
"All operational, all emergency and alarm services are working on the spot, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is working," Khinshtein said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is preparing a "strike of last hope." One of the possible directions may be a strike on the Glushkovo area (up to the Seim River) with a subsequent attack on Rylsk.
