The Kremlin has carefully studied the statement of US President-elect Donald Trump about Ukraine's readiness to conclude a peace agreement with Russia. This was reported to journalists by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
"We have carefully read the statement of the US President-elect Donald Trump, which he made after a meeting in Paris with [French President Emmanuel] Macron and [Vladimir] Zelensky," Peskov said, quoted by TASS.
On December 7, Trump arrived in France, where he met with Macron and Zelensky. Their negotiations in a trilateral format ended after 20 minutes without a joint final statement.
Later, Trump wrote on his page on the Truth Social network that Ukraine would like to conclude a peace agreement with Russia, and called for an immediate cease-fire and the start of peace talks. He also expressed the opinion that "China can help in the negotiation process." At the same time, Trump added that otherwise the Ukrainian crisis "could escalate into something much bigger and much worse."
