Fraudsters have developed a new scheme with compulsory medical insurance (MHI) policies to gain access to personal accounts on the Gosuslugi portal.
This was told to RIA Novosti by the expert of the Popular Front project "For the rights of Borrowers", curator of the Moshelovka platform Alla Khrapunova.
She explained that the attackers, under the pretext of updating the MHI data, are asking to provide a code from SMS, which is allegedly necessary to complete this procedure. This code allows them to access their personal account at Gosuslugi.
The expert also reported that fraudsters incite "clients" to these actions, telling them that without mandatory updating of data, the policy in force for a person will allegedly stop working and deactivate.
"We remind everyone of the main rule: the code from the SMS can not be reported under any circumstances. It's like the keys to your apartment — after all, no one will give them to some stranger, no matter what he says," the expert urged.
She also recalled that insurance companies do all policy updates on their own, and old policies on "Public Services" are updated automatically.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Russian Post company warned about the spread of a fraud scheme using SMS messages in the country.
