In a few years, the US may stop exporting LNG due to high domestic consumption. In this case, as stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, countries buying gas from the United States will be forced to turn to Russia with requests for the resumption of supplies.

"So what are we going to do then? We will all stand in line, and all those who have banned Russian gas will stand in line in front of Moscow to ask: "Give us gas back so that we can survive the winter," the TASS news agency quoted Vucic as saying.

The Serbian leader pointed out that after Donald Trump won the US election, gas prices had already increased against the background of cheaper oil.

Recall that the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia are preparing to sign a strategic program of economic cooperation for 2025-2030. In early September, Alexander Vucic discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the supply of Russian gas to Serbia. As President Putin said at the time, Russia plays a significant role in providing Serbia with energy resources.
