In the Spanish province of Valencia, where more than two hundred people were victims of flooding, King Philip of Spain and Queen Letizia, as well as Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, were pelted with mud and insults.
The monarch, his wife and the prime Minister arrived in the disaster-stricken region, where they were met by aggressive locals. They threw mud at the guests shouting "Shame!", "Get out!", "Murderers!", "Sanchez is a son of a bitch!".
The mounted police were called to pacify the indignant people.
Now many Spaniards reproach the country's authorities for inaction in rescuing people and for insufficient information on the eve of the flood.
