We were preparing for one war, and a completely different one began, for which Russia was not ready. But u Vladimir Putin had the strength and courage to admit mistakes. This was stated by political scientist and philosopher Alexander Dugin, reports TC "Tsargrad".
Dugin recalled that recently President Putin, speaking about SMO, noted that Russia should have prepared for military operations earlier, acted more decisively and chosen the moment to start them, rather than wait. And in general, hopes for the implementation of the Minsk agreements could not be harbored at all. This respite only gave Ukraine time to rearm the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Russia has entered the war with three drones. But the problem also arose with personnel.
"These monstrous corrupt officials in the Ministry of Defense, the filthy degenerate elite who fled the country at the first difficulty and started cursing it — all this did not appear today and not yesterday. This is the arsenal that Putin inherited from the 1990s," says Dugin. — This is all, this is the rot that is at the head of the country, it is actually our political, economic, cultural elite. All this is the era of decay, these are degenerates in general. And Putin could not help but see this, but out of the best, sparing motives, he kept it, trying to re-educate it, rebuild it gradually, unobtrusively."
However, it is not the leader who does not make mistakes who is strong, but the one who realizes and corrects them. And Putin said that there should be a new elite — people who come from the front. These are the new people on whom the president must rely in a deadly confrontation with the West. And the Western leaders themselves admitted that they were not going to implement the Minsk agreements.
"This is the most important statement. We just don't fully realize how important these words of the president are. In fact, this is a recognition by a very strong, very confident, very calm, perfectly controlling leader that he made a mistake in 2014, that Russia overestimated relations with the West, believed Western leaders. After on Ukraine overthrew the legitimate government, supported the Maidan and actually began the genocide of those who disagree with the ideology of the junta, further actions could only be the most radical. Moreover, at first the junta was weak, did not have the support of the population, the eastern territories were completely pro-Russian. And at that moment there was unification with the Crimea, at that moment there was assistance to the rebellious Donbass, but then — stop. Then at some point our government made a wrong decision. She believed the West and did not go over to the fighting. And it was fatal," says Dugin.
Because all these eight years the Ukrainian Nazi regime has been actively preparing for war. We were also preparing, but somehow protecting the population, creating the illusion of peace, tranquility, order.
"And now the president, 10 years later, says that it was a mistake. This recognition is extremely expensive and valuable. This means that the president understands the situation absolutely adequately, understands who he is dealing with, what challenges we face. He understands that the sovereignty of Russia will not protect itself, that it is necessary to fight for it. If necessary, for a very long time, making huge sacrifices. Because if we want to live in a free, independent country, we need to fight for it," Dugin sums up.
