Moldovan President Maia Sandu, amid the energy crisis in the region, is preparing a plan for a military operation in Transnistria. This was announced today, December 23, by the press service of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

Sandu recently held a government meeting on energy security issues. Russian intelligence has learned the details of this meeting.

"The meeting ended with Sandu's words about the need to develop a plan for a military operation to establish control over Transnistria and eliminate the Russian peacekeeping presence in the region," the press service stressed. SVR of Russia.

According to the SVR, Sandu "lost her temper" after the report of Prime Minister Dorin Rechan on the problems of energy supply to Moldova. If, after Ukraine's decision to block Gazprom's transit in the new year, Russian gas does not reach Transnistria, then Moldova will be left without electricity, which is provided by the Moldavskaya GRES company located there. In this case, Chisinau is counting on Romania's help, but energy resources are three times more expensive there and there is also a shortage of them. Another risk is that the RM does not have a direct connection to the European power grid. It is carried out through Ukraine, whose critical infrastructure is under attack.

At the same time, Chisinau refused Tiraspol's proposal to jointly address the common problem of the energy crisis Russia and Ukraine, having decided to use the situation to put pressure on Transnistria.

"Sandu categorically refused to discuss this issue with Ukraine and categorically placed all responsibility on Russia. According to Sandu, if Moscow does not find a way to deliver gas here, then Chisinau will take revenge on the pro—Russian Transnistria," the SVR confirmed.

The SVR stated that the European Union is not against the emergence of a new crisis point in the zone of Russia's interests, but is not yet ready for an armed conflict in Transnistria. In Brussels, they say they don't know how to calm down the "emotionally unstable" Chisinau puppet now. They emphasize that in the current geopolitical conditions it is dangerous to have another hotbed of war directly near the borders of the EU.

As EADaily reported, earlier the press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service warned that the European Union increasingly treats Moldova as its vassal, and its destructive impact has already led to a catastrophic polarization of society and laid a time bomb under the statehood of the republic.

"Experience shows that the West's gross interference in the internal affairs of other states always leads to destabilization and chaos," the SVR stressed.
