Turkey will abandon all-inclusive hotels

Turkish businessmen suggest that in the future there may be fewer hotels operating on the all inclusive system due to its inefficiency. On Tuesday, October 15, one of the members of the Ankara Association of Young Entrepreneurs, Mustafa Korkutata, told the Turkiye newspaper.

"Annually (about $1.4 billion) is wasted. The number of tourist accommodation facilities that use the all-inclusive system will be reduced," Korkutata said.

He notes that all inclusive leads to the spoilage of very large volumes of products that cannot be fully realized in hotels. According to him, we can talk about throwing 200-400 grams of food from each plate.

The businessman believes that in the future hotels will try to switch to a new scheme of providing meals to holidaymakers. One of the options may be cooperation with restaurateurs.

"Tourists will be taken out of the hotel in the evenings, driven around the city center, and then taken for dinner to restaurants with which there are agreements. Thanks to this method, businesses will be able to earn better and also compete more effectively, for example, with neighboring Greece in terms of prices," he said.

On August 6, Hürriyet reported that representatives of the tourism industry in Turkey again proposed to revise the all-inclusive system. The changes were also supported by businessman Zafer Alkai, who is one of the founders of this format of recreation in the 1990s. Entrepreneurs interested in the development of tourism in Turkey have been complaining about the all inclusive system for many years, Izvestia clarifies.
